For years we have owned a vax, one of the high end models that does everything but tell you when to sleep, eat, and crap, I have been a cleaner for over 15 years and the vax used to work wonders, that was until we had to have it in for various replacements, motor, power cord, electronics, buttons, new hoses and cleaning head. The first time we had to get it fixed was about 7 years ago and have had nothing but trouble since.
So one day after fighting with the vax for over an hour to clean my house, wheels falling off the hose taped on, and the head so worn it used to shave the carpet rather than actually clean it we gave in and went shopping for a new vac.
We had seen infomercials for dyson a while back and figured we would go and check them out, we went to our local dealer and tried it out on the store floor, which had no doubt been vacuumed more than 1000 times a day, we were shocked to see how much the dyson picked up, so we tried it on another peice of carpet and oh my god. by the time the sales woman approached we were sold!
It must have been the easiest sale she had made all year, on bringing it home we decided to follow the instructions and vacuum with the vax again, then use the dyson to see the difference, now we vacuum each day due to my allergies – to cat and dog and well basically anything living so naturally we imagined there wouldnt be much cat or dog hair left over from the vax vacuum session.
Boy were we wrong!!!!
After doing our lounge room (carpet only) the dyson had to be emptied, we slowly made our way around the house saving each canister of dust in a bag for later examination, 3 full plastic shopping bags later we were done.
it has been over 2 weeks since we bought our DC23 turbine head and we still get roughly a full canister each day, I cant beleive how much dirt the fax missed! or rather how much dirt we have been living with for years.
This vacuum is truly awesome, infact we find ourselves becoming involved in a new and … odd pass time, saving and analyzing our vacuum dust we even have sucked up dog hairs from a dog we no longer have…..
The size is compact with no loss in suction from size, the telescopic handle is so well designed im shocked no one else thought of it before, it fits easily into a cup board or small space, the ease of cleaning is absolutely fantastic i love this dyson, if it wasnt illegal and my better half would let me i might consider marrying this little vacuum, unlike my better half I know this dyson will clean my house.
If you want a vacuum that actually works and is so easy to use and clean then a dyson is definately for you.
Btw we paid aus $800 for this little wonder, well worth the outlay for this dust hungry beast.
